Trip Planning app design

Overview

Booking a multi-destination trip can be an exhilarating yet overwhelming undertaking, as it demands meticulous planning, comprehensive research, and a knack for managing intricate logistical details.

The Challenge

The problem lies in the complexity and time-consuming nature of manually researching and organizing a multi-city location.

Identifying affordable transportation choices and comparing prices across different modes of travel can be a cumbersome task. Aligning schedules and ensuring everyones needs are accommodated can be difficult.

Sketches

I conducted thorough research prior to initiating the design process, delving into user preferences, behaviours, and industry trends. Based on these findings, I crafted sketches and mid-fidelity prototypes to visualize potential solutions.

Mid Fidelity Wireframe

These prototypes were then subjected to rigorous testing, allowing for iterative refinement and validation of design choices.

Style Guide

The style guide covers all aspects of the interface, from sizes to colours. It serves as a roadmap for consistency in future projects, ensuring cohesive design outcomes.

High-Fidelity Prototype

The following prototype underwent usability testing using Maze. The testing aimed to evaluate the click-through rate and effectiveness of the information architecture. The wireframe encompassed crucial user journey elements such as sign-up processes, profile creation, trip booking, itinerary creation and editing, search functionality, and map integration. The findings revealed a 50% success rate, indicating the need for further iterations to enhance usability. Additionally, detailed heat maps are available in the complete case study, offering deeper insights into user interactions.
